When Should You Go Long?

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

After my last newsletter about choosing the right size Yummie Tummie, so many of you wrote in to ask “Should I get the regular or long length?”

My fast and easy answer is: “Get both!”

Here’s why: the two lengths do different jobs. Most of us have a convertible bra to wear with halters or strapless looks, and another one that is perfect under t-shirts. It’s the same with Yummie Tummie — you pick the one that works with the outfit!

For example, with a casual look like low-rise jeans and a hoodie, I wear a Yummie Tummie long boyfriend tank. The extra length lets me be confident that everything will stay covered, even when I’m chasing my kids up, over and around the jungle gym!

When I wear something dressier, like a sheer top with light-weight trousers, I pick one of the Yummie Tummie basics, like a strappy tank in the regular length. I can even tuck it in for a more formal look, without a lot of extra fabric bunching up.

I hope this helps you to find the right Yummie Tummie. I love answering your questions, so please keep sending them in!

Stay yummie!
Heather

Get Involved with Organ Donation

Friday, April 17th, 2009

life-tank1First let me just thank everyone for their wonderful notes on our Facebook page!

Also - for everyone that has asked how they can donate, volunteer or register to be an organ donor, you can go directly on the New York Organ Donor Network’s website: DonateLifeNY.com

In case you missed this earlier in the week. April is Organ Donor Awareness Month, and this is a cause that’s very close to my heart.

My son Jax was born with bilary atresia, a rare and deadly disease that causes cirrhosis of the liver. A liver transplant saved his life when he was 5 ½ months old. We will always be grateful to the family who gave Jax this amazing gift by donating their son’s organs after he was killed in a traffic accident.

One way I try to repay that debt is to encourage people to learn as much as possible about organ, eye and tissue donation. It saves lives, saves families from suffering, and saves money by eliminating huge health care bills for treatments like kidney dialysis.

Yummie Tummie is helping, too. This month we’re offering the Life Tank, a special, limited edition Yummie Tummie in sassy lime green. All of the proceeds go to the New York Organ Donor Network, which coordinates organ donations.

Order a Life Tank today and help this outstanding non-profit organization. Look great while doing good – it’s a sure way to feel your best!

Stay Yummie,
Heather

California Dreaming

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

I just got home from an amazing trip to California, which you’ve been reading about if you follow me on Twitter or you’re a Yummie Tummie Facebook fan.

It was fantastic to meet so many of you in person. I love that women always pull up their shirts when they meet me - gotta show off your Yummie Tummie!

Everyone was wild about the spring collection, especially the sexy new Bareback in raspberry. It’s my favorite right now, too!

In San Francisco, I had a great conversation - Hi Michelle! - about figuring out which size Yummie Tummie to get. Since this is a question I hear all the time, I thought it would be good to tell everyone the big style secret: be comfortable!

Seriously, wear the size that fits and feels good on you! Start with your usual size. If you want a little more support and shaping, try on a size smaller. If it’s too tight, go a size up.

It’s that easy. The trick to looking yummie is feeling good. Your shapewear should make you happy. Try a Yummie Tummie and you’ll be wearing it with a big smile, I promise!

It’s Time to Spring-Clean Your Wardrobe!

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

heatherIt’s been a long, snowy winter, but spring is here at last. It’s time to get a fresh start with some wardrobe spring-cleaning!

Take an afternoon to go through your closet. Donate anything you haven’t worn in a year, and mend loose buttons and sagging hems.

Try on everything with the right shoes and undergarments. You might be pleasantly surprised to see how pieces really look on you. I always say, “YummieTummie is a passport to your own closet” because all clothes hang better with a little support!
You have more support choices than ever with the new spring Yummie Tummie collection:

  • The trendy Boyfriend tank has wider straps, like that one you always borrow from him, only smoother in the middle!
  • The sexy Bareback halter is the only shapewear that gives you the support while letting you show off your shoulders and back!
  • The Lacie, with feminine lace details on the neckline and hem is a sweetly slimming layer, or perfectly pretty by itself!

Check out all of the new styles, plus see your favorites in bright colors for spring. You can be comfortable and look great, with Yummie Tummie!

Happy and Yummie Valentine’s Day

Thursday, February 5th, 2009

peek-a-boo-cami-mi-photoIt’s that romantic time of year again, Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re in a long-term relationship, or hoping for that someone special, it’s the day when we all want to feel sexy and confident and to look our best.

In my experience as a celebrity designer and stylist, I’ve learned that sexy comes in every shape and size. The constant is confidence.

The other thing I learned? Everyone — even the most famous, perfect-seeming star– can tell you in detail about her flaws. The trick is to let go of those negative feelings and focus on your best feature, whether it’s beautiful skin or sparkling eyes or a gorgeous head of hair.

My approach is to use whatever makes me look good, feel good and be healthy. Whether it’s great highlights, the indulgence of a chocolate treat or a sexy, Yummie Peek-a-Boo Cami under my Valentine’s Day dress I’m a fan of all things that helps me stay focused on the positive and to look and feel my best!

Remember, when you’re comfortable and happy, you will look your best, which helps you feel great. And that’s when you find the confidence and energy to do great things and have a great time!

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you!

Be bold, be sexy and be yummie!

Heather’s Essential Style Tips for Valentines Day

Today: Lingerie!
Lingerie makes you feel sexy, confident and flirty. But please, no ‘ace bandage’ shapewear! The Yummie Tummie Peekaboo Cami, is va-va voom lingerie you want him to see!

Wear a Sexy Skirt
Dresses and skirts are instantly feminine! Just remember to choose a length either well above or just below the knee, that flatters your shape.

Save Red for Roses
Red can be a hard color to wear, and just a bit cliché. Instead, go for dark colors, or small prints. Pick colorful accessories, like my fav: a temporary tattoo with your sweetie’s name!

Heels, Heels, Heels!
No flats on Valentine’s Day! Forget about being taller than your man. If you want to be your man’s fantasy, wear a hot high heel boot with a short dress!

DON’T overdo!
Don’t overdo perfume, make-up and hair or an outrageous look that is just not you. Be yourself! And let your yummie, real beauty shine through!!

Mmmm, yummie!
Forget about calories and eat normally. Enjoy your time together!!!

Skip New Year’s Resolutions, Get a Yummie January Boost Instead

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

heather-face-pinkI hope you enjoyed many wonderful times this holiday season. It was great, but I have to admit, it’s almost a relief that busy December is over.

As a mom and professional woman, I’m always searching for ways to balance everything on my plate. Even when you love your job like I do, it’s tough to fit it all in with family and friends.

Add in the post-Thanksgiving rush of parties, gift shopping and year-end obligations, and you can forget about finding that all-important me time!

Great as it was to indulge in holiday treats and relax with loved ones, the price of all that yumminess is the struggle to squeeze back into my skinny jeans. I even admitted to the Wall Street Journal that I gained six pounds over the holidays!

Good thing Yummie Tummie helps me smooth out that holiday muffin top and lift my attitude. If you’ve worn a Yummie Tummie, you know exactly what I’m talking about, right?

New Year’s resolutions are a lot of pressure, especially when you’re already working as hard as you can. Instead, start the year fresh by giving yourself a break and a boost at the same time: get a Yummie Tummie.

Yummie Tummie gives you the freedom to be your best self in everyday outfits, from layering a Long Sleeved Body V under a cardigan, to dressing up jeans for girls-night-out with the jeweled neckline Glamour Tank.

Whichever fabulous style you choose, it will make you look terrific, and give you a rush of feel-good energy — just what you need to get moving on a New Year’s project, whether it’s a workout routine or a book club or a weekly bubble bath. It’s about whatever makes you feel Yummie and happy.

Be Yummie!
