How many of you may have had a loved one buy you revealing lingerie to make you “feel sexy”? It’s a sweet gesture, except there’s nothing forgiving or comfortable about most negligees, whether you’re a newlywed, or about to celebrate a significant birthday (29 again!), or a mom of two like me.
Intimate situations are a time when you want to feel your best. Once again, I’ve taken inspiration from real life and created the item my girlfriends and I all want: the one-piece Yummie Tummie Teddie, with underwire lace cups, and a snap-crotch, lace, boy short. And of course the Yummie Tummie Teddie has our exclusive shaping mid-section to give you that perfectly comfortable and smooth hour-glass shape.
Just as important as making you look good, I believe that shapewear also has to help you feel your best. The Yummie Tummie Teddie will give you that extra confidence, and let your beauty shine through, in every situation.
Whether you wear it in the bedroom, under a suit in the boardroom, or with a little black dress to a holiday party, the Yummie Tummie Teddie gives you more options than ever. It’s our newest must-have piece!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and like so many of you, personal experience has made this a significant cause for me.
In the 70s my grandmother underwent a mastectomy which saved her life. More recently, my dear friend Leslie was diagnosed with breast cancer and received radiation treatments. Those treatments left her tender and sore, but she kept fighting and I’m so proud of her!
At Yummie Tummie we’re inspired by the courage of all the amazing women and men who fight and survive breast cancer every day, thanks to research that develops new treatments and medical breakthroughs.
For the entire month of October, Yummie Tummie will donate 50% of the proceeds from these Pink Ribbon Tanks to BCRF.
Show your support for breast cancer research with a Pink Ribbon Tank or Pink Ribbon Strappy Tank, and enjoy the comfortable, stylish and smoothing control of Yummie Tummie.
Remember: pink looks yummie on everyone, and this is truly an important cause!
Above is the clip where a model, Parisse, shows her Yummie Tummie before and after. She looks terrific, but the best part is seeing how happy and confident Parisse feels in her Yummie Tummie. She’s smoking hot because she feels so great!
Tyra is one of our favorites because she is all about focusing on the positive, encouraging women to celebrate themselves instead of obsessing about real or imagined flaws.
Thank you, Tyra, for sending that important message to women! We love you!
Years of school trained us think of September as the time to start a project. Every fall I like to take a day to regroup and make plans. I call it Back to You time!
One of my regular Back to You projects is switching over my closet for the new season. It helps me figure out what I have, and decide what I want to add to update my wardrobe.
I always find a forgotten treasure in there, and it always reminds me of my mantra “Yummie Tummie is a passport to your own wardrobe!” The slimming support helps make every outfit look and feel better. And the new fall line gives you more Yummie Tummie choices than ever!
One of my favorite new items from this collection is the Skinny Tank. Made with our new proprietary stretch cotton fabric, it hugs your curves with the Yummie combination of comfort and control you’ve come to love.
I’m so excited to have you try this new style and fabric that we made it the Featured Item of the Month. Use coupon code SKINNYTANK and get 20% off a Skinny Tank between now and September 30th!
Stay yummie!
I’ve told you before how much I love to answer your style questions, and invited you to send them in. The response was terrific and today I am posting the first three winners, all of whom will receive the Yummie Tummie in their style solution!
First we have a question from Christy, a stay at home mom of twins:
Hi Heather,
If I were to buy one Yummie Tummie that is the most universal and wearable in any situation, which style, what length and color, would you recommend? I am a stay at home mom that would like one that would save my life on a daily basis, whether home with the kids or out to lunch with a friend.
I am long in the torso and live in more fitted cotton shirts and low rise pants. I am fighting the muffin top after having my twins several years back. I still want to feel good in my clothes but as a family on a single income, I need to be practical.
Thank you very much! Christy
Hi Christy,
Yummie Tummie Classic Tank
Thanks for your question! The answer for you is the Original Yummie Tummie Tank, in long length. You can try any color you think would work best in your wardrobe - I find you can’t go wrong with either white, black or nude as staple basics.
The straps cover a contemporary bra and look great with sheer tops, under cardigans, jackets or on their own. The long length can be worn tucked in, or over any of your lowrise jeans to save you from that dreaded muffin top.
Keep fighting the good fight against muffin top!
Our second question comes from Sandra, a 30-something mom:
Hi, Heather.
I purchased my first Yummie Tummie just last week. What is the best way to layer a Yummie Tummie with another tank without looking like my teenage daughter?
Your New Yummie Tummie Lover, Sandra, a Mom in her 30’s
The New Strappy by Cup Size
Hi Sandra,
I’m glad to say there are many “grown-up” ways to wear a layered look. The key is choosing the right sophisticated colors to differentiate yourself from teenagers, and putting them together with what you pair your layering tanks with. Stay away from destructed denim and cut off shorts. Dinner denim (dark rinse) or a pair of wide leg bottoms are a perfectly sophisticated match.
Muted colors like nudes and pale pinks work well together, and are flattering on everyone. Try the Strappy — or the new Strappy by Cup size if you like a little more support in the bust — in ivory, pale pink or nude shades.
Think classic, and steer around super-trendy or harsh colors and patterns. Remember, first you want people to notice how good you look, then what you’re wearing!
Our third question comes from Debbie, who’s hoping to find a new look.
Hi Heather,
My question is about the Yummie Tummie Boyfriend. What would look better with this type of tank, a blouse over top or layered with another tank? I wear a lot of blouses but want to try a different look and I am not sure how to pair this tank.
Thank you, Debbie
Hi Debbie,
Good news - you can do both! Your Yummie Tummie Boyfriend will look stylish layered under other tanks, or under blouses, cardigans, or jackets. This versatile style can be dressed up or down.
Yummie Tummie Boyfriend Tank
Because the straps are wide enough to cover any bra strap, you will look pulled together with a basic tank with jeans or crisp white shorts. You can wear the same tank peeking out of a blouse with a pantsuit, as a layering essential and loads of confidence!
It’s fantastic that you’re trying new looks. It’s important to give yourself permission to experiment, just remember to follow your instincts. If you have a feeling that something is too casual for the office, then it probably is.
Thanks again to everyone who sent in questions. I’ll keep answering one each month, so please keep asking! Click here to submit your questions through the Contact Us form, or share them with everyone below in the comments.
I have so much exciting news for you – the new Fall line is available and I can finally tell you about the amazing new designs. They range from lingerie to ready-to-wear styles, all in our beautiful fall palette!
There’s nothing forgiving about a negligee, even though that’s when you should feel your best. So I created the one-piece Yummie Tummie Teddie, with underwire lace cups, and a snap-crotch, lace boy short, with our exclusive shaping mid-section. It’s truly versatile, giving you confident coverage in the boardroom – under a suit, of course! – and sexy support in the bedroom.
Yes, at last you can get yummie bottoms! These high-waisted styles offer you a bit more control than the Yummie Tummie tanks, for a flat tummie and hourglass waist. An elastic interface, combined with our exclusive tricot fabric, means they stay put, while still being soft and comfortable.
The Lady Leopard has been one of the most popular Yummie Tummie styles. Now you have a second stylish option: the hot, on-trend Lace Print pattern in white or nude, with silk-bound adjustable straps.
You’ll love this new silhouette, with wider straps and a higher back, made with a new form-fitting – and forgiving – stretch cotton. Especially fabulous in the new charcoal and plum shades!
Enhance your bust, slim your waist, and work the color block trend with this versatile and pretty top. The Sweetie is great by itself, or under a jacket, with jeans or pair with a pencil skirt for a dressier look.
By popular demand! Some ladies asked for a more generous fit in the bust. I took it one step further, creating this adjustable strap tank with a built-in underwire bra. Cup sizes go from C to DD, in sizes small through extra-large.
We just updated the Yummie Tummie site with all of the new pieces. Check them out, and add some confidence and excitement to your fall wardrobe with these new Yummie Tummie styles!
Hot weather is here, with weekends filled up with cookouts, softball games and beach parties. It’s also when I start reminding the ladies in my life about a big rule of style: “casual” doesn’t mean you can toss all fashion sensibility into the garbage!
It’s easy to be comfortable and have great style. Just follow these Casual Party Dos and Don’ts!
Do:
Embrace color – try out a bold orange hair accessory, or a flirty raspberry pink Yummie Tummie Boyfriend Tank to show off sexy shoulders.
Go for a comfortable shoe – have fun with a flat, metallic sandal, or try the Fit Flop which were featured on Oprah’s favorite things with Yummie Tummie
Choose simple jewelry, like a charm – I love Good Charma! — on a leather cord or silver chain
Keep your makeup light – use SPF, tinted moisturizer, not heavy foundation, swipe on some waterproof mascara, and a pretty, sheer lip gloss. You’ll be done, but not too done. (more…)
Like all Moms, Mother’s Day always makes me think of the amazing and emotional days when my kids were born. They are my pride and joy, and also my inspiration!
After Jax, our first child, was born, my search for a sexy and comfortable shapewear solution left me frustrated and frankly, disappointed in what the market had to offer. That is what led me to design my very first yummie tummie invention: The Original Yummie Tummie Tank! I decided to take off my consumer hat and put on my designer hat and ever since, I have been thrilled to discover that it wasn’t just me — women everywhere want the same thing: sexy, comfy shapewear that you can be confident in and love to show off!
When I was pregnant with Ella, inspiration struck again. I remembered how awkward nursing bras were - especially the part where I had to hike up my shirt and expose my midsection, at a time when I really wanted to be a little more covered up! I knew there had to be a better solution. But again, I couldn’t find exactly I wanted…so I designed it! The Yummie Tummie Nursing T has a “quick access” snap down bodice, making it easy to prepare to nurse. At the same time, it provides secure support, and enough comfortable coverage to feel confident nursing or pumping almost anywhere.
Now the Yummie Tummie Nursing T is my favorite shower gift, and makes a terrific Mother’s Day present! Give one to a new mom in your life. You’ll help her feel her best while she shares this special time and bond with her baby.
Stay yummie! Heather
PS - Still need a present for a Yummie Mummie, but not sure about size or color? Send her a Yummie Tummie gift certificate!
After my last newsletter about choosing the right size Yummie Tummie, so many of you wrote in to ask “Should I get the regular or long length?”
My fast and easy answer is: “Get both!”
Here’s why: the two lengths do different jobs. Most of us have a convertible bra to wear with halters or strapless looks, and another one that is perfect under t-shirts. It’s the same with Yummie Tummie — you pick the one that works with the outfit!
For example, with a casual look like low-rise jeans and a hoodie, I wear a Yummie Tummie long boyfriend tank. The extra length lets me be confident that everything will stay covered, even when I’m chasing my kids up, over and around the jungle gym!
When I wear something dressier, like a sheer top with light-weight trousers, I pick one of the Yummie Tummie basics, like a strappy tank in the regular length. I can even tuck it in for a more formal look, without a lot of extra fabric bunching up.
I hope this helps you to find the right Yummie Tummie. I love answering your questions, so please keep sending them in!
Stay yummie! Heather

In case you missed this earlier in the week. April is Organ Donor Awareness Month, and this is a cause that’s very close to my heart.
My son Jax was born with bilary atresia, a rare and deadly disease that causes cirrhosis of the liver. A liver transplant saved his life when he was 5 ½ months old. We will always be grateful to the family who gave Jax this amazing gift by donating their son’s organs after he was killed in a traffic accident.
One way I try to repay that debt is to encourage people to learn as much as possible about organ, eye and tissue donation. It saves lives, saves families from suffering, and saves money by eliminating huge health care bills for treatments like kidney dialysis.
