Freitas Family Follies

Heather Thomson, the cool mom who invented Yummie Tummie is in town for a trunk show. She asked if I know any mom bloggers who might like to meet up for a casual dinner and drink while she's here. Now, *who* do I know who would want to have a drink on a school night? :)

I had no clue what the hell Yummie Tummie was. Honestly, at first I thought it was baby food. I checked out the website and I was so excited! A night out in the city and possibly some free schwag that I would totally use. I'M IN!!! I called up Robyn and asked if she wanted to come with and the rest was history.

We headed up to the city and could have just driven for hours. When Robyn and I are together the conversation never stops. We are two peas in a pod. We lead very different lives but when you get down to the bare bones we are so alike. She has become one of my greatest friends even though we don't talk very often.

We arrived at the W Hotel a little early and headed to the bar. If you have never been to a W you gotta check one out. It is very dark and modern inside. The people who hang there think they are so cool but they are far from. Whatever. We got to the bar and made nice with the bartender, grabbed our champagne and had a seat. Then we did what any normal blogger does....took photos. LOSERS!

After relaxing a bit we met up with the people from Yummie Tummie and made some new friends. It is fun to be out with bloggers from other genre's. The two other writers were fashion writers and it is always cool to hear what they have to say about things. Thankfully everyone was easy going and conversation flowed. Keith from YT brought out a few items to show us as well as some catalogs and I was sold instantly. OK, not so instantly but I was very intrigued.

Let me tell you about these bad boys.....

"Yummie Tummie is a modern body contouring shaper. Your Yummie Tummie is meant to be seen while secretly slimming your mid-section and camouflaging visible lumps and bumps!Unlike most shapewear that compress your bust and roll up, the Yummie Tummies’ cotton bust and hip panels appear to the outsider as a normal tank top; meanwhile the secret midsection panel is smoothing and shaping your middle, eliminating approximately five pounds off your appearance."

Seriously, who can't use one? Even the thinnest girls I know want to be sucked in somehow. Those of us that have kids that never really get that stomach back, yep you need one. OK, so I loved the product but that is not what sold me on the line. Heather Thomson, the creator, is AMAZING.

Heather was a bit late meeting us but she walks in and it was like we had known each other for years!!! She was so friendly and nice. The thing is, this woman is a powerhouse. She was the creative force behind P. Diddy’s Sean John line, several labels launched by Beyoncé Knowles as well as Jennifer Lopez’s Sweetface brand, she's BIG. We got to hear some great stories about the creation of J Lo's line and some info about Diddy. Loved it! I twittered that night how I was "running away with Robyn to NY to live with Heather" and if I had been 22, no kids and not married, I might have done it.

I am in love with Yummie Tummie. I want one in every color and many different styles. I know the price point is a little high, especially for those SAHM's like myself. I have decided the price is worth it for even just one! Lucky for you, I am going to be doing a giveaway soon so keep your eyes open!!!!
