Body Slimmer Breakthrough: They’re Comfortable (and Cute!)

cosmopolitan_1.jpg
Shapewear used to be synonymous with industrial strength flesh-colored  spandex that made you feel like you were being squeezed into sausage  casing. The bike shorts style was particularly offensive in that it was  nearly impossible to go to the bathroom (getting them on and off could  take up to 30 minutes) and if a guy ever saw you in them, he’d run in  the opposite direction. But a bit of unpleasantness was well worth the  ability to wear a clingy dress or skirt without worrying about  lumps and bulges.

Well now you can reap all the body-slimming benefits without cutting off your circulation or terrifying  your boyfriend. The new generation of shapewear is super-comfortable and can be worn alone or under practically everything you own.

My favorite line, Yummie Tummie,  has an extensive selection of soft, lightweight cotton tanks and  T-shirts with a microfiber midsection panel which smooths out your stomach and hips.  Plus, everything comes in two lengths: Regular and long so you can tuck  your shirt in or wear it out (either way, they're designed to stay in  place and cover your butt crack when you bend over). They just added a  few dresses to the line that like the tops, you can wear alone or under  another a regular dress. I know that I'm going to get a lot of wear out  of the strapless tube style one at all the weddings I’m going to this summer.
